CAPSULE RECYCLING PROJECT EXTENDS TO GUIMARÃES
The municipality of Guimarães has just joined the project to collect and recycle coffee capsules, of which Bogani is part.
In this initiative of the Associação Industrial e Comercial do Café (AICC), which involves 13 coffee brands, 3.2 tonnes of capsules have already been collected in the first municipality to join the project – Cascais.
With the adhesion of the first municipality to the North, an important step is taken in the dissemination of the project. For Cláudia Pimentel, Secretary General of the AICC, "This project is the culmination of a continued effort by the entire sector in favor of the sustainability and circularity of coffee capsules, but it is also the beginning of a broader effort to bring recycling to at the door (to the municipality) of all consumers of coffee capsules in Portugal”.
Guimarães will have, as of today, collection points in its 48 parishes and in two dozen supermarkets in the county.
This project allows you to give new life to plastic or aluminum capsules, of all brands available on the market, by effectively and fully recycling your coffee receptacle. After being collected, the capsules are, in Guimarães, delivered and stored at VITRUS Ambiente and subsequently recycled.
